The Viking Progress
At Rye Bar in Athens on Wednesday, The Viking Progress played their first official show. Night Driving in Small Towns opened for them.

Weekend Festivals
Well, as is widely publicized, AthFest is this weekend over there in UGA-ville. It officially kicked off last night with the Flagpole Music Awards. Widespread Panic won performer of the year… That ellipses is very intentional, they might as well have had REM and The B-52s in the running as well… But, whatever, Athens voted and they have spoken. Another election in this world.

WatchThe Georgia Theatre caught fire 7am this morning. Here is the news reel.
