Weekend Festivals
Well, as is widely publicized, AthFest is this weekend over there in UGA-ville. It officially kicked off last night with the Flagpole Music Awards. Widespread Panic won performer of the year… That ellipses is very intentional, they might as well have had REM and The B-52s in the running as well… But, whatever, Athens voted and they have spoken. Another election in this world.

HOWEVER
if going up, over, down, under to Athens is not what you want to do for the next 3 days, then try this in ATL…
A self-claimed “Indie-Rock Extravaganza in East Atlanta Village!” and there ain’t nothin wrong with claiming yourself. I did, got 800 bucks back.
But man, I kind of wish I was headed in that direction…
2 stages, featuring the musics from those as: Attractive Eighties Women, Club Awesome, The Empties, Modern Skirts, and a ton more. Two days, 27-28th.
And of course a Corn-dog eating contest. It is in East Atlanta @ 470 Flat Shoals Avenue and is sure to be entertaining, even if you are deaf.
